There is no clear demarcation to separate out the normal fever, cold, cough, typhoid, pneumonia from the Corona. A good benchmark is to use OXYMETER to keep a check for Oxygen Concentration in lungs going down.
If the OXYMETER is consistently showing oxygen concentration level below 95% ie. ranges between 90-95% consistently, or getting lower - there is a high chance you need the Hospitalisation or oxygen support for the patient.
Early signs for Corona is high or low fever, fever not getting down easily, recurrence of fever, strong weakness in the body, feeling breathlessness while speaking or talking. Try airing the balloon, or go upstairs to see if there is a breathlessness. Do not use Oxymeter just after performing some heavy duty work, or running, or upstairs/downstairs exercise to check for the oxygen concentration levels, but check with Oxymeter when you are in a relaxed condition on your bed.
Consult doctor better using online methods/ Teleconsultations e.g. HealthPlix, Navia, DOCON - creating a different detail post for same.
Corona might still be there without any obvious symptoms e.g. - Patient under observation had a 99.2 deg fever for a day, by evening there was no fever but it was heavy weakness in the body, was feeling drowsy, and weakness wasn't going away, it remained there for 3-5 days. Patient visited the doctor and took some paracetamols, antibiotics and multi-vitamin capsules that helped him regain the health in next 7-10 days. During this period Oxymeter reading was continuously showing 96-98% saturation. All parameters were looking accurate, no loss of smell or taste, no diarrhoea. Patient was feeling like nothing happened and started back on the daily work-routine, but when randomly tested via RT-PCR from a lab - have found Corona Positive to my surprise.
PRECAUTIONS / CAUTION NOTES --
It's better and safe for your family to get separated/isolated/quarantined as soon as you expose to fever, starting days till 7-days of Corona Exposure is highly Contagious and might affect the near and dear ones who are helping you out to reduce the fever.
Precautions without testing or when you fell sick and not sure of Corona exposure --
Better precaution is to follow the home isolation guidelines e.g.
- Person taking care should use mask,
- Separate out your utensils, towels, clothing set during the disease,
- Use dedicated washroom (it requires two washroom in your home) ,
- Your attendant should keep washing their hands as soon as touch utensils used by you, or anything from the room where you have kept yourself isolated - obviously without touching his/her eyes, nose, mouth.
- Note that CoronaVirus is Airborne and may be suspended there for a long time, therefore keep the windows open of your room, run Fan at the full-speed and DONOT USE AIR CONDITIONER.
- Avoid taking bath, if still going to take bath then use a little warm water and less of cold water, clean and dry your head, chest portion with the help of towel.
- Anyone entering the room should use precautions to keep their mouth and nose covered to avoid air-suspended CV or droplets coming out from the breathing.
- Keep the little kids away from your isolation room and washrooms.
